“EteroLukumas”, Athens, Greece

In the heart of Psyrri, one of Athens’ most vibrant neighborhoods, we designed EteroLukumas, a compact 20 m² dessert shop that feels closer to an architectural installation than a conventional storefront.

Rather than competing with the area’s eclectic rhythm, we introduced soft, curved geometries that create a calming presence. A central column blends seamlessly into the ceiling and walls, forming a continuous, fluid surface with no hard edges or partitions.

The façade is lined with ceramic tiles, echoing those found in Athenian homes of the 1950s and ’60s—a subtle reference to the city’s architectural memory and the handmade details that are slowly disappearing from new construction. Openings on the street front are shaped to invite curiosity and entry, while still preserving a sense of discovery.

The result is a small-scale project that emphasizes mood, materiality, and atmosphere, offering a gentle counterpoint to the city’s usual intensity.
