“Meta – Memories”, Cyclades, Paros
This project draws its inspiration from the classical ruins of ancient Cycladic villages, seamlessly blending the old with the new to create a tranquil and luxurious retreat.
Specifically, “Meta-Memories” has been designed to harmonize and blend in with its stunning natural surroundings. The resort offers a serene escape, capturing the essence of Cycladic culture and history while providing contemporary comforts and amenities to its guests.
“Meta-Memories” draws upon the ancient villages’ layout, materials, and connection to the landscape. The resort features structures that echo the cubic forms and terraced designs of Cycladic architecture.
The inclined terrain of the resort is a defining feature of the design. One of the main advantages of the inclined level is the unobstructed views it provides. To adapt to the inclined level, the resort employs a terraced layout, according to typical Cycladic complexes. Private rooms and suites are nestled into the hillside, offering secluded retreats with private balconies or terraces. With each room on a different level, all the terraces overlook the breathtaking view of the island, providing a sense of privacy and connection to nature. This particular technique with the terraced layout was drawn by the old ruins of Cycladic architecture that were found on the island, providing the inspiration for the project.
