”Ton reflet en réfraction” is conceived as a composition of horizontally layered volumes that emphasize openness, continuity, and the relationship between interior and exterior living spaces. The design is defined by generous cantilevered slabs that frame each level, creating deep terraces while providing passive solar protection and enhancing the building’s horizontal expression.

 

A distinctive feature of the project is the use of glass block balustrades, which reinterpret a traditional material in a contemporary architectural language. Beyond serving as safety barriers, these translucent elements filter natural light, refract views, and establish varying degrees of privacy without compromising visual permeability. During daylight, they diffuse sunlight and soften the building’s appearance, while at night they transform into luminous surfaces, revealing the changing relationship between artificial illumination and the surrounding landscape.

 

The structural system combines reinforced concrete with strategically integrated steel elements to accommodate the extensive cantilevers and maintain slender floor profiles. Large glazed openings maximize daylight penetration and reinforce the visual continuity between indoor spaces and landscaped terraces, encouraging year-round outdoor living.

 

The landscape design extends the architectural concept by incorporating tropical planting throughout the terraces and the ground level, softening the building’s geometry and contributing to the environmental quality of the project. Together, the architectural form, material palette, and structural clarity create a residential development that balances transparency, privacy, and spatial flexibility while responding to its climatic and urban context.
